Damien James Sweeting bsc - Electric /Acoustic Guitar Teacher

 
Damien James Sweeting is a session guitarist and guitar teacher  in York . He is currently the lead guitarist for recording artist Maria Jordan and is also part of the twin lead duo of York based Morpheus Rising . He has recently also produced and arranged the latest acoustic album by professional singer, Rebecca Newman.
 
Damien runs a successful teaching practice from his home in the centre of York and teaches both electric and acoustic guitar . Damien is a registered tutor of the RGT, his teaching often following (but not limited to) the syllabus and guidelines presented in the Registry of Guitar Tutor's handbooks grades preliminary to grade 8.  Damien beleives that the RGT grades provide a well planned and structured guitar course which will keep the student focused, challenged and interested whilst building a good solid foundation for all round good musicianship, not to mentionion an accredited and recognised system from an international organisation.
 
Damien teaches all levels from to advanced.
 
 With his relaxed and easy going approach , Damien has students returning for more and is constantly seeing the rewards, results and improvements from all his students.  
 
The syllabus taught covers chords and chord harmony/theory, rhythm playing and chart reading, soloing and improvising over chord sequences, modes, arpeggios, scales, knowledge of the instrument, specialisms and a range of other areas which are approached in a fun and enjoyable way.
 
Damien also teaches specialised techniques such as legato, alternate picking, sweep picking, fingerboard tapping and two tapping, pinched and tapped harmonincs and wammy bar contol. Many of these techniques are employed by players like Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert, Steve Via, Slash, Mark Tremonti or Brian May.....to mention but a few.

RGT organises internationally recognised in electric, classical and bass guitar – from total beginner to Diploma level – in partnership with London College of Music Exams (one of the world's most respected music examination boards, established since 1887) and certificated by Thames Valley University.
